Weird Half Year, Wouldn't You Say?!

Yeah, same.

Hi Friends, the past couple months I’ve started a new approach, attempting to say what I have to say more simply and plainly through short “Citizen Papers,” laid out like what some call ‘white’ papers. This pivot is from feedback from just about everyone that I’m still writing at too high a level. These short papers may lead to Toolkit Talks which may lead to 2-month & 2-year consulting contracts, though for now I’m quite content as a quiet civil servant leaning into local food security in anticipation of wave two of unemployment. In preparing these papers, I have been blessed to have the help of a few remarkable people who specialize in low literacy communication, and they have guided me to the new format. I try to tackle the big questions that I find to be inadequately answered by activists, news, and experts. Here are the ones I written so far:

1.     Is Our Nation At War?

2.     What’s This New World Order Nonsense?

3.     What’s The U.S.’s Problem?

4.     Who’s On The Side Of Good?

5.     Who’s Had .1% Power?

6.     Can War Be Just?

The fifth one is especially is important to me because it explains why I take on “too much” as advisors have expressed, in trying to all at one time be an antiracist calling for police reform, be an insider exposing our country’s worse crimes and calling for government reform, be a condemner of Abrahamic religions, be an opponent of all political activity while promoting civic duty, and more. In short, I believe there are many walls we must break down to overthrow those who reside in this castle. Please do your own research and ask me any questions you may have. Thank you for joining me in this journey for freedom.

I’ve managed change management specialists, and I know that bringing something new to market normally involves appealing to early adopters first, and then a majority. However, in the work of waking hearts and minds, I find my role in helping form a majority, my personal focus, is to appeal to the political moderates and those power players that happen to know me. Hopefully, more seasoned activists start to see the success of my methods with these types, though I know many activists doing the work all their lives are off-put by how confronting I am. To them I say, MLK couldn’t have succeeded without a more defiant Brother Malcolm. I know my angst is the language of the oppressor, and that is why Im more likely to reach them! I knew this was the way for me when I first charted this course for myself and titled my very first YouTube video “A Case For Tough Love.” Special thanks to my brother Patrick and also a sister Becky though, who helped me see this week that I was turning hateful and get back to leading with love.

And I have progress to report! I already have been featured on one podcast this month and have received inquiries for a second podcast appearance and feature in a documentary. Check out my guest appearance on The UNLEARNing Project’s podcast “Community Conversations: A Call To Action” on the importance of white allyship/co-conspiracy.

Lastly, please remember, that in all my alarmism, doomsdaying, and soothsaying, about the possibility of the worst case scenarios, I am always hopeful, and I can help you be hopeful too.  Everything will be okay, when enough of us do something to make it so.

Peace, love, and love.

Mark
